This game was made by me (GlassHeart, the owner of this blog, hello?) for NaNoRenO 2013 in the span of about 2 weeks. It’s a free GxB  romantic comedy and you shouldn’t take it too seriously. I know I  didn’t. ^_^

One day our heroine, Marty (name can be changed), arrives uncharacteristically early to school to find a boy from another class leaving flowers on her desk. She hides before he can see her, not wanting the situation to become awkward.
How will our nutty, hopelessly romantic, manga-loving protagonist deal with the situation?
She will try to recreate classic romantic scenes from her favorite mangas with her not-so-secret admirer, Matt, in order to get him to confess his feelings. Duh! Fortunately, her reluctant friend Warren is there to help. Will she succeed, or will all her plans fail miserably? Hint: it’s not the former.

The happy-go-lucky protagonist. Her ideal in life is a manga heroine.

The best friend who enjoys watching Marty fail. He likes sweets. A lot.

The clueless love interest. He’s a nice, normal, non-manga reading person.

Marty’s excitable friend who dreams of becoming an actress.

~Cold hard facts~
2 boys
~10 000 words
6 pathetic attempts at romance
4 endings
vast amounts of pink
humor (at least I hope so)

    Dear owner of the blog,

Congrats for the new VN. Only 2 weeks’s seems like you worked your ass off here to have it finished in time for us ;;). I must say I thoroughly enjoyed your sarcastic sense of humor.. in SFM..but even more here, in SignedX..your characters’s sharp lines are the charm of your game. let’s talk about za boys:x.. both were cute, but from the start i had a little(fine..i admit! BIG) crush for Waren (I call that blue strand?? guilty! :-“). After finishing all your VN’s endings though, I found myself curious for a future side-story about that plot with Matty >:) :D)

    All my regards,
    some player of your VNs,

sounds like an awesome game! i really like summer found me so i’m looking forward to playing this one!
however the mac version i’ve downloaded keeps crashing every time i try to open it.
i’ve deleted and reinstalled it but that doesn’t seem to work
    is this just me?

    • GlassHeart 09/04/2013 at 22:35 #

there isn’t a separate mac version, the version I have should work for all platforms, so I don’t think that’s the problem. it’s hard to say what it could be without any error message. installing the newest version of renpy might work. the only other solution I can think of would be to play on another computer… 😦

Oh my gosh! A new game! I adored Summer Found Me so I’m sure this one’s just as awesome >w< Sooo downloading!

    • GlassHeart 20/04/2013 at 19:09 #

I really hope you enjoy it just as much. If you can, let me know what you thought of it. ^_^

As with Summer Found Me, I loved this game, too…
First of all, let me say that I loved Warren ever since I saw him posted on this blog. I just didn’t get the time to comment on this (shame on me!), and I only downloaded the game last night >_< (more shame).

I loved this. I don't want to gush, but this was an extremely well-made game. Your art was sweet and I was amazed by the coding ((: And, of course, the most important thing to me–the story. It was effortlessly funny, girly, and enticing all at the same time. I mean, I kinda figured out that it wasn't really Matt who was leaving the flowers (or that the flowers weren't really for her), but it still got me playing, anyways.

Warren reminded me of Seth. Just saying ((: I love his being the balancing equation to the MC's kookiness.

Yay for another completed game from you! (: When I get to update my blog, I'll do a review on this, and on Summer Found Me, too. ❤

Oh, forgot to post this. I found a couple of mistakes in the game, but I’m sure they can be easily fixed (just in the script xD)

Bus – ‘…as nonchalantly as possible, I walked up next to his seat and SAT there.’
(‘SAT’ is replaced with ‘STOOD’ if Warren does not come along for the bus ride)
    – I don’t do take two. <– Not sure about this, but I read it multiple times and it still doesn't make sense. Maybe you missed a word? (:

That's all, though. Sorry for being so picky. Hope you don't mind my pointing these out to you. /:

    • GlassHeart 22/04/2013 at 15:03 #

Thank you for commenting! You make me blush ^///^
I thought about the similarities between Seth and Warren myself. They are the “voice of reason”, except Seth is more awkward and grumpy, though I guess that’s part of his charm.

One of my beta testers pointed out the stood/sat error, but I only ended up changing one instance (it appeared twice, if you went alone/with Seth on the bus seat attempt). I’ve corrected it now, thank you! It kinda breaks my heart I have to upload it again. lol

Take two refers to the term in the film industry. Like when something doesn’t come out right, they do more than one take. But Marty is acting like a movie star full of herself saying she doesn’t do take two. At least that’s what I wanted to say, hope it makes sense.

      • apoeticalfriday 22/04/2013 at 16:19 #

OOOHHH. I get it now ((: I feel so stupid xD
Whoa, yeah. You’re uploading it just to get rid of that tiny little mistake /: Kinda makes me sad, too, but happy that you’re such a thorough person! \O.O/

P.S. The review for SFM is on my wordpress ( (:

        • GlassHeart 22/04/2013 at 18:48 #

Thank you for doing me the honor of having Summer be the first game you review on your blog. As a token of my appreciation, I added your blog to my -newly created- blogroll. Hope that’s ok ^_^

      • apoeticalfriday 22/04/2013 at 19:17 #

No biggie! (: It was MY honor having SFM on my blog. It WAS the first otome I’ve played (not counting Pacthesis’ flash ones). Thanks for following it xD Hope I can drum up some interest for your work by doing this simple thing (: I’m doing Signed X next, watch out for it! (:

    Hi there.

I finally had the time to play Signed X and as a huge fan of SMF already I wasn’t disappointed with it, on the contrary it was fun and sweet (mostly fun, I love the way you write). I could see Marty fail every time and yet thought to myself “I could totally have done that” (and fail miserably as well).

The only regret I’ve got is that is so short *sob*, I seem to never get enough of your games, keep making them please, I’m such a fan!

And now I’m gonna make some yummy cupcakes I’m craving for those since I last played the game ^_^

    • GlassHeart 30/04/2013 at 23:12 #

I really hoped people who liked SFM would like Signed X too, so I’m glad you did. I hope I’ll get the same reaction for games with a more serious topic (not that they won’t have any comedy, that’s practically impossible for me to write).
I wish you could e-mail cupcakes. You would send me one, right? XD

  7. Anonymous 10/05/2013 at 20:41 #

I loved this game! The art was lovely, the plot amusing, and the backgrounds / transitions really pretty 😀 Thanks for all your hard work and for making it free for people like me to play!

    • GlassHeart 10/05/2013 at 22:49 #

You’re welcome! I’m happy you liked it. ^_^

  8. Tatiana 07/06/2013 at 11:26 #

I love this game! I don’t care that it’s short; it’s so funny, cute, and sweet – I can’t get enough of it!

  9. xletspretend 02/10/2013 at 19:01 #

I really enjoyed ‘Signed X’ although it was quite short, and I got the 4 endings! Yay~~
Thank you for making this game, really *-*
